VODAFONE SERVICES NOW CONVENIENTLY AVAILABLE VIA QIB POINT OF SALES MACHINES PROVIDED BY QPAY

Doha 11 January 2021: Vodafone Qatar has partnered with Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) and QPAY International LLC, one of Qatar’s largest financial technology (FinTech) service providers, to make the telecom operator’s electronic recharge and bill payment services available via their QIB select Point of Sales (POS) machines.
 
Amidst the pandemic, the demand for payment innovation has grown, including customer preferences toward electronic payments for services, such as bill payments. Qatar’s national FinTech Strategy also aims to improve digital payment platforms and other services, by leveraging the newest technologies.
 
Commenting on the partnership, Vodafone Qatar’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Diego Camberos, said: “We’re pleased to partner with QIB and QPAY to offer Vodafone’s customers the convenience of accessing our services in a larger number of outlets. Digitalisation underpins our Company strategy and we have established a strong network of retailers across the country that are adopting our digital service offerings in their operations. In turn, such digital transformation has benefits for virtually every kind of business.”

With a sizeable presence in a number of hotels, restaurants and cafeterias, QIB POS machines accept both credit and debit card payments and can be identified with the help of Vodafone’s recognisable branding.
