Doha, Qatar 03 June 2020: Residents living in the densely populated area of Al Waab can now access Vodafone Qatar’s superfast fibre broadband network following roll-out completion in 57 residential compounds that serve more than 3,200 homes. The list includes: Beverly Hills Gardens (1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 15 & 16), Al Mirqab (1, 2 & 3), Les Roses (1 & 2), The Oriental Village, Al Jawhara, Tebah Gardens, Al Waab Oasis, Janayin Al Waab and The Village Resort.
This latest announcement highlights Vodafone’s rapidly expanding fibre footprint in the country that in addition to Al Waab, includes key locations such as West Bay, Lusail, Salwa, The Pearl, Wakra, Bin Mahmoud, Al Gharaffa, Al Sadd, Msheireb, Industrial Area and Old Salata.
Vodafone Qatar’s GigaNet fibre network roll-out in Al Waab will enable Vodafone GigaHome services in thousands of homes. In addition to high-speed internet, Vodafone GigaHome covers homes of every size with uninterrupted Wi-Fi in every room using a state-of-the-art Giga Wi-Fi Hub, capabilities that are ideal for meeting the higher demand being placed on home internet services following nation-wide precautionary measures against the coronavirus pandemic that have mandated on-line or digital learning for schools and universities, and remote working for many employees.
In addition, GigaHome-Fibre customers can enjoy GigaTV, Vodafone’s home entertainment service that features live TV channels, on-demand content such as movies from major studios, Vodafone exclusive TV series and kids content, as well as OSN premium channels. These features can also be enjoyed on the go through the GigaTV app.
