Vodafone Qatar sponsors the Doha Kangaroos
September 29, 2009: Vodafone Qatar announced today the naming rights sponsorship of the Doha Kangaroos, Qatar's Australian Football League Club, which will now make the Club called the Doha Vodafone Kangaroos
The Club has been around for 3 years and is rapidly growing. It fields teams in the Australian Football League's Middle East competition that has 6 teams covering the Gulf States such as the UAE, Oman and Bahrain. The Australian Football League Middle East VB Premiership Trophy 09/10 season starts on the 9th October.
"This is a spectacular sport which is rapidly growing in popularity outside Australia where it has its origins. We see supporting local clubs and communities as a key part of developing sport in the country and ensuring that they have the opportunity to compete across the region for Qatar. We hope the Doha Vodafone Kangaroos can really make Qatar proud!" said Daniel Horan, Director of Consumer Business Unit.
"The contribution made by Vodafone Qatar to the Doha Kangaroos is significant, not necessarily in financial terms, but it is their commitment to Qatar community sport.... that is impressive and I believe, genuine," said John Panteli, President, Doha Vodafone Kangaroos.
"Vodafone is a dynamic and progressive company, we are very grateful for the support offered by Vodafone and their alliance with the Doha Vodafone Kangaroos. This association will impact greatly on the club's future growth and hopeful success in representing Qatar in the Australian Football League Middle East competition," continued John Panteli.
