Vodafone Announces its Ramadan Activities
08 August, 2010: With the holy month of Ramadan fast approaching, Vodafone Qatar announced its plans for this special month that includes a variety of events and services that recognise the spiritual, charitable and family aspects of Ramadan.
Due to the great popular demand from Ramadan last year, Vodafone will again offer free daily prayer time information via SMS. This year customers can choose to receive the notifications in either Arabic or English. All they need to do is send and SMS with the word "ARABIC" or "ENGLISH" to the short code 97220.
Prayer times can also be on hand with Vodafone's pocket-sized Ramadan calendars which can be picked up at a Vodafone store or partner outlet. Prayer times can also be found online at www.ramadan-mubarak.com or for free on customer mobiles at mobile.vodafone.com.qa/Ramadan
Ramadan is a time to help those in need. That's why Vodafone has chosen to join Qatar Charity in their Ramadan activities. By sponsoring Iftar tents in Doha and Al Khor, even those less fortunate can enjoy Iftar meals for free with their family and friends.

Once again, Vodafone are partnering with the W Hotel to bring the spectacular Ramadan tent to Doha. Iftar and Sohour can be enjoyed with family and friends while experiencing exotic foods from around the world and entertainment from the Ramadan Band.
Stay in touch with family and friends
Vodafone has made it easier to stay in touch with family and friends during this special time with amazing local and international calling offers. These include the "Ajeeb" offer that gives customers up to 15 hours worth of free calls to other Vodafone customers. Stay closer to home with Vodafone's great international calling rates, and until the end of August, customers can enjoy "Super Sundays" where anywhere in the world can be called each Sunday for only 55 Dirhams a minute, and the GCC promotion in which Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, UAE and Bahrain can be called for only 69 Dirhams a minute.
"The Vodafone team would like to wish everyone a blessed Ramadan. This is a special time for people in Qatar and millions of people around the world, and we hope that our services and activities will make it that extra special for many people," said Grahame Maher, CEO, Vodafone Qatar.
Vodafone will be announcing several other promotions and exciting new services during Ramadan so stay tuned!
