VODAFONE THE EXCLUSIVE TELECOMMUNICATIONS PARTNER FOR HOSPITALITY QATAR 2019

Doha, 13 November 2019: As part of its continuous commitment to Qatar’s ever expanding business landscape of which the hospitality and tourism industry is an important part, Vodafone Qatar participated as the ‘Exclusive Telecommunications Partner’ for Hospitality Qatar 2019, a flagship exhibition that provides an ideal platform for industry professionals to exchange innovative solutions and showcase their products in the hospitality and tourism sector.

The Company’s participation falls in line with its efforts to roll out cutting-edge communications infrastructure and digital solutions that will enable the sector to fully embrace market opportunities that contribute towards the realisation of the Qatar National Vision 2030. This year’s edition of Hospitality Qatar is particularly aimed at supporting the country’s efforts to accelerate world class projects in the lead-up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Mr. Mahday Saad Al Hebabi, Vodafone Qatar Business Services Director, said: “Vodafone Qatar is proud to support the country’s efforts to become a leading global destination for hospitality as well as tourism, leisure and recreation through our 5G and NB-IoT network capabilities. Hospitality Qatar 2019 has been an excellent platform to engage with partners on how our technology can play a role in transforming the hospitality industry, especially as Qatar continues to count down to welcoming millions of visitors for the FIFA World Cup in 2022 and many other major events.”

With ultra-fast speed and low latency, Vodafone GigaNet 5G has the potential to define a unique guest experience. 5G is escalating the adoption of technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality. Hotel chains are now able to consider the integration of this technology to offer more personalized services such as smart rooms, voice assistants, and a virtual concierge as part of creating an appealing environment for guests. 5G connectivity will also drive innovation for related services in the hospitality and tourism sector such as transport, conferencing and events.

Since launching its 5G network a year ago, Vodafone Qatar has been leading the deployment of 5G in the country, and in November extended its IoT leadership by launching the first Narrowband-IoT (NB-IoT) Network nationwide. NB-IoT is expected to be a catalyst for companies to consider connecting things that would not have been viable with existing technologies.
