Doha, Qatar, 26 October 2019: Vodafone Qatar announced today that it will showcase a range of the most advanced smart technology solutions at the nation’s biggest digital event, Qatar IT Conference and Exhibition 2019 (QITCOM), in which it will participate as an ‘Official’ sponsor.
In keeping with the QITCOM theme, ‘Safe, Smart Cities’, Vodafone Qatar will engage with official entities and the public in a spacious 1,000 sqm area to demonstrate technologies powered by ultra-fast 5G wireless internet connectivity: virtual reality, Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, big data analytics, smart technologies for homes and industries, and how they converge to enable innovative solutions for a sustainable digitised environment.
Visitors to Vodafone Qatar’s pavilion will experience live and interactive demonstrations of 5G-enabled smart technologies in five zones: Smart Homes; Connected Retail Stores; Smart Industry; Smart City and Gaming. A dedicated space of 150 sqm will be occupied by international tech start-ups, who will showcase various creative ways in which they are harnessing the potential of 5G. With this, Vodafone Qatar aims to facilitate the exchange of ideas and knowledge transfer with local start-ups and businesses.
Vodafone Qatar’s innovative participation in QITCOM further highlights its role as a key player in achieving the National Vision 2030, and in supporting the nation as it becomes one of the most digitally connected in the world.

As part of its ongoing social responsibility programme, Vodafone Qatar will also run four action learning educational activities in the Digital Youth Festival Tumuha Tec happening on the side-lines of QITCOM. The activities raise awareness and build skills around internet safety and new technology among children and parents, and will use virtual reality to teach kids what 5G is.
QITCOM will run from October 29 to November 1 at the Qatar National Convention Centre, with Vodafone Qatar’s pavilion located at Hall 5, stand number H5C6 - H5J6.
