Vodafone Qatar Raises Qr 92,833 To Support Flood Relief Efforts In Pakistan
26 September 2010: Vodafone Qatar raised a total of QR 92,833 to support flood relief efforts in Pakistan.
The money was raised from August 16 to September 15 via a 10 Dirham donation for each call Vodafone Qatar's customers made to Pakistan.
The total amount raised has been given to the Qatar Red Crescent who are actively involved in the post flood relief operations including distribution of food and non food Items, health relief and recovery and rehabilitation
"We felt that it was our duty to help Pakistan in its time of need and are delighted that our customers played an active role in raising the money," said Ms. Luisa Gentile, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, Vodafone Qatar.
"We thank Vodafone Qatar for their donation and hope that many other companies will follow Vodafone's exemplary role in raising money to aid relief efforts in Pakistan," said Dr. Amer Melhem Disaster Management Coordinator International Relief Department, Qatar Red Crescent.
