Vodafone Qatar Raises More Than Qr 2.2 Million Towards Building Public Parks

29 December, 2010: Vodafone Qatar announced that to date it has raised more than QR 2.2 million that will go towards building public parks for everyone in Qatar to get together.

The money was raised as part of Vodafone's fantastic local calling promotion "Get Together", launched in August this year, in which for every local call a customer made, Vodafone put 1 Dirham towards funding the building of public parks.

Given the success of this, and how much money has been raised, Vodafone also announced that it will continue until 31 March 2011 to put 1 Dirham from every local call towards the funds to build parks in Qatar.

"We are thrilled to announce that more than QR 2.2 million has been raised towards building public parks. Our commitment to building public parks is very much in line with our purpose of "Making a World of Difference for ALL the People in Qatar" and our customers are part of making this happen through every local call that they make," said John Tombleson, Acting CEO, Vodafone Qatar.

"These parks will be great places in Qatar for everyone to ‘Get Together' with their family and friends," continued John Tombleson.

Vodafone will unveil the design of the parks and where they will be located, along with the detailed delivery time plan early next year.
