VODAFONE QATAR HOLDS ITS FOURTH CSR MAJLIS
Doha, 31 January 2012: Under Vodafone Qatar’s corporate responsibility programme, ‘Better World’, Vodafone Qatar hosted the quarterly gathering of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) community, ’Vodafone Qatar CSR Majlis’. The event was held for its fourth time now at the headquarter office at Qatar Science and Technology Park.
The meeting was attended by several representatives from different sectors and industries that are actively engaged in the CSR sector in Qatar: Qatar Shell, Carengie Mellon University, Mercy Corps, ictQatar, Qatar Volunteers Network, Bedaya Centre, Impact CSR Solutions, Georgetown University, Qatar Foundation, Qatar Foundation for Combating Human Trafficking, Ministry of Business & Trade, QDVC, Ernst & Young, UCL Qatar, and ABA Group.‘Vodafone Qatar CSR Majlis’ is an informal network of Qatari based companies and organizations which are interested in Corporate Social Responsibility, corporate governance, sustainability and social enterprise. The CSR Majlis serves as a platform for networking, sharing and partnering with the goal of strengthening and increasing CSR awareness and practice in Qatar. It values inclusiveness, collaboration and mutual sharing and learning.
“I am delighted to announce that we have held a successful ‘Vodafone Qatar CSR Majlis’ for its 4th time. Our aim through out this innititaive is to bring about a real change by brining together individuals who are willing to share ideas, work together and seek common solutions. We hope that the learnings and relationships developed within The CSR Majlis will lead to action that will make a difference to everyone in Qatar,” said Dana Haidan, Head of Corporate Responsibilty, Vodafone Qatar.
The CSR Majlis in Qatar will be held quarterly and is opened to individuals working for organizations that are genuinely interested and actively engaged in CSR and that are willing to share their expertise and good practices within the community.
