Vodafone Qatar Gets "Social" With It’s Customers

12 July, 2010:  With over 20,00 Facebook membersand 1,400 Twitter followers, Vodafone Qatar is leading the online "socialconversation", recognising that listening to and engaging with theircustomers reaches beyond a phone call.

Since 3 December 2009, Vodafone Qatar has integrated onlinesocial listening into how they do customer service.  Using Facebook,along with Twitter and blogs, Vodafone Qatar listensto their customers, provides assistance, answers questions and engages inconversations about its brand. It's also a forum to gather feedback about whatcustomers would like to see from Vodafone, such as new products and serviceimprovements.  In fact, members ofthe Vodafone Facebook Group are often the first to hear about Vodafone's newoffers, promotions and events, as well as special offers just for them 

 "Vodafone is a firm believer in the value of online socialnetworking as a great way to meet and engage with our customers," said DeEtteChristie, Head of Online, Vodafone Qatar.

 "We get lots of great ideas and suggestions from our Facebookcommunity and all the different departments at Vodafone actively listen towhat's said on Facebook, Twitter, and more.  We take that feedback and make real change in ourbusiness.  For example, feedback onour network from our Facebook members is helping us improve out networkcoverage; we've actually installed Cell Sites in some areas in Qatar because ofwhat we were told on Facebook," continued DeEtte Christie.

 Accessing Facebook on your mobile is free for all Vodafonecustomers, so there's no charge for interacting with Vodafone on their Facebookpage.  Plus customers get 10MB offree Mobile Internet every month which they can use to surf other sites, a popular local website whose forums Vodafone participates in.
