Vodafone Launches International Video Calling
21 April, 2010: Vodafone Qatar has made it easier for customers to keep in touch with their family and friends overseas with the launch of International Video Calling.
With Vodafone's International Video Calling service, customers can speak to and see their family and friends up close, wherever they might be for just QR1.80 per minute.
"International Video calling is another example of how we're making it easier for our customer's to connect with home. They'll no longer feel like they're miles away from family, friends or loved ones. With our Video Calling service they'll feel the power of video calling by seeing them smile or watching them laugh. It's the next best thing to being there," said Vodafone Qatar's Product Manager, Mike Button.
Video Calling is just as easy as a regular voice call, but it uses the camera on your phone to let you see the person while you talk to them. Whether you're at a football match, out shopping or at a music event, you're just a few clicks away from a face-to-face conversation.
Video Calling is as easy as voice calling with the bonus of being able to see the other caller. Once a video call has connected the customer just needs to hold their phone up in front of them and they'll see the person on the other end doing the same.
To use the service, both you and those you are calling must have 3G-compatible phones with video calling, registered with Vodafone Qatar's 3G network at the time of the call.
To place an international video call, all you need to do is dial the number in international format: 00 + country code + number you want to call and then press the video call key or select video calling from the menu.
For further information or if customers need any assistance, they can call the Vodafone customer service centre at 111 from their Vodafone mobile or 8007111 from any other phone.
