Vodafone Concludes its Summer 2010 Internship Programme
03 August 2010: Vodafone Qatar's 'award winning' Summer Internship Programme for 2010 which began in June has concluded with the interns presenting their thoughts and learning experience to Vodafone's Executive Members, including CEO Grahame Maher.
The interns which came from Carnegie Mellon University Qatar, Texas A&M University, Northwestern University, Qatar University and College of North Atlantic had an unparalleled experience with numerous opportunities to learn new things and experience first-hand about how a company functions.
The interns had the opportunity to experience working in Vodafone's Technology, Human Resources, Marketing, Retail and Corporate Social Responsibility departments and were assigned to various projects that they were involved in all the different stages.
The Interns were given personal responsibility for their projects and received guidance from their Team Leaders and Mentors. This approach coupled with a flexible working style allowed the Interns to put in their best efforts and show their creativity and original ideas.
"I'm so proud of all the Interns' great work and am thrilled by the feedback of their positive experience.. Vodafone now looks forward to our Winter 2010 Internship in which more Interns will experience the Vodafone world," said Amro Rashad, Head of Resourcing and Learning, Vodafone Qatar
"Giving students the opportunity to learn vital work skills is very important to Vodafone Qatar not only because of our commitment to being a centre for talent development but also to contribute to the development of Qatar's Human Capital as part of His Highness the Emir's Qatar 2030 vision," said Jan Mottram, HR Director, Vodafone Qatar.
