Vodafone Announces The Winner Of "Call Home And Win A Home" World Calling Club Competition
2 July 2011: Mostafa Mohamed from Egypt was announced as the lucky grand prize winner of Vodafone's World Calling Club competition "Call home and Win a Home". He received the cheque for QR 250,000 from Vodafone's Acting CEO John Tombleson, at the award celebration held yesterday (1 July 2011) at the Vodafone Store in Musheireb.
Since April 2011, Vodafone customers have been winning prizes in the "Call home and Win a Home competition". Customers earned chances to win with every minute of every international call and every SMS sent to an international destination via the World Calling Club. Each week 10 winners received handsets and shopping vouchers, 500 received prizes of calling credit. For 3 months now, customers have been anticipating their chance to win QR 250,000 towards building a house in their home country.
"I'm truly honoured to have had the privilege of handing Mr.Mostafa his grand prize of QR 250,000 which will be used towards building that dream home back in Egypt. In addition to the grand prize, there were 12 weekly draws where more than 6000 customers won handsets, shopping vouchers and calling credit .
Vodafone has already made a world of difference to hundreds of people's lives with the previous World Calling Club competitions, with prizes that helped winners to send their children to school, to start a business or to treat their sick relatives.
