H.E. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani To Replace Sheikh Hamad Bin Nasser Al-Thani As Vodafone Qatar Board Member
January 11, 2011: Today Vodafone Qatar Q.S.C. ("Vodafone Qatar" or "The Company") announced that Sheikh Hamad Bin Nasser Al-Thani has decided to stand down as a member of the Board of Directors of Vodafone Qatar ("the Board") with immediate effect. Sheikh Hamad leaves the Board to focus on his other commitments and responsibilities. He will be replaced by H.E. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani who was appointed on 11 January 2011 as a Vodafone and Qatar Foundation LLC representative on the Board.
Sheikh Hamad Nasser Al-Thani was a member of the First Board of Directors of Vodafone Qatar, joining the Board on 26 June 2008. "Sheikh Hamad has supported our Chairman, Sheikh Abdulrahman Bin Saud al-Thani, to drive Vodafone Qatar's business from its inception with 4 employees to a full service telecommunications company with over 300 employees serving over 711,000 customers. This is a phenomenal achievement" said John Tombleson, Acting Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of Vodafone Qatar.
