Roaming tips – while you’re abroad:

On reaching the destination, you need to simply switch on your phone. The phone will connect to one of the available Vodafone roaming partners.

Trouble Connecting:

If your phone is not connecting automatically to a local network when you switch it on, you’ll need to check that its settings are correct. Here are the steps you should take to get it up and running.

  • Make sure your network settings are set to Automatic Network Selection.
  • Ensure you are in an area with good network coverage.
  • Allow your device up to five minutes after you turn it on for the first time to perform the network registration.
  • Your device should now automatically connect to the local network.

If after five minutes the device is not showing the name of the network and the coverage signal, go to the Vodafone Services menu on your phone, and select Start Roaming or Restart Roaming

Saving Money:

When roaming it’s actually cheaper to receive calls from abroad than make calls! (Click here for our latest rates). Receiving SMS is always free of charge!

You may choose not to use data while roaming, to do so you can turn your Data Roaming off on your handset.

If you would like to access the services available on data ?you connect your device to any available WIFI hotspot. You will not be charged for roaming data usage and will be able to use the BlackBerry services (including BBM) via WIFI.
